We are delighted to announce that we have received our SABS certification on our all Roof tiles!

West End Claybrick can date its beginnings back to 1991, then known as West End Brick Works.

West End Claybrick was formed in 1998 when entrepreneur Mr. Hennie du Preez acquired the company and changed its name.

In 2007 the Buildworks consortium led by prominent businessman Herman Mashaba, CEO of Phatsima Brick & Clay, acquired a 30% shareholding of  West End Claybricks. Others in the consortium are a private equity fund Firefly 61 Investments and is managed by listed Peregrine Holdings and the existing management of  West End Claybrick. Mr. Hennie du Preez with the assistance of  Mr. Philip Spies turned West End Claybrick into a huge success with their sharp business acumen.

The Roof Tile plant, brainchild of current MD, Mr. Phillip Spies, is fully automated and the most advanced plant of its kind in the Southern Hemisphere. This Swedish Plant has the capacity of producing 66 000 Roof tiles per day.

What sets us apart from our Competitors?

Our Roof tiles are delivered palletised, wrapped and strapped as an added benefit, free of charge. The biggest benefit of delivering palletised stock is virtually no breakages on site! Off-loading time is also kept to a minimum.

A Polymer solution is mixed into the raw material to reduce the likelihood of efflorescence occurring. This solution also enhances the Roof tile colour.

We own a fleet of crane trucks and do not use a third-party transporter as a norm. The biggest benefit to our customers is that our transport rates are kept to a minimum. We
refrain from doing split loads and therefore our
lead time is 2-3 working days instead of
3-5 working days, which is the industry norm.
